Real or fake? (Tree, that is)

By now, most of us have heard the arguments for and against real trees in terms of time, money, and scent. The memory argument can go either way: we always had a real tree in the family room, but in the living room on a table was a four foot, gold aluminum tree. I loved them both.

The environmental aspect of real vs. fake is interesting. For example real Christmas trees are 100% biodegradable. Also, they are an important crop for farmers. And, every tree grown contributes oxygen to our environment. In a time of global warming, that can't be underestimated. If you are concerned about the environment but want a fake tree, certainly check out the second hand stores. Rule number one for Granola girl: reuse, recycle!
