Reuse and Remember

Crafts with Christmas cards and wrapping

We here at Boomerng are big on reusing and recycling, and are always
thinking of ways to reuse paper.

I like reusing Christmas wrapping paper to make unique envelopes. You can get envelope templates at scrapbook stores, or take apart one of your favorite envelopes and trace the shape. There are tons of cool envelopes out there.

Of course, if you’re a true artiste’, collage is a natural. Patterned
papers make really cool dresses or bedspreads or wallpaper in collage
art.

There’s also decoupage. Put that pretty paper on a cardboard or wooden box and keep your boomer era jewlery within!

I guess my absolute favorite way to resue beautiful Christmas cards is
to make precious origami boxes. They are so beautiful and you don’t
even need glue! Most of the time they are kind of small, because
Christmas cards are only so big, but perfect for jewlery or a handmade
candy.

The Kid-at-Art site does a great job of illustrating these festive boxes: Have
fun!
