Wallpapered Lampshade
If you have vintage 60s or 70s wall paper, here's
a great way to show it off. If you don't, you can probably find
some "retro" designs. Try the links at the end of this
article.
What you need:
- lampshade - fabric or paper work best
- wall covering
- paint - optional
- paintbrushes—foam and bristle
- glue
- scissors
- repositionable spray adhesive
- clear coat acrylic spray
How to:
- Paint the lampshade if desired and allow to dry
overnight.
- Cut out designs from leftover wall covering or
borders, being sure to cut plenty of extra pieces, and decide
how to arrange them on the lampshade.
- Use spray adhesive to temporarily adhere the
designs to the lampshade to decide if the design is right.
- Use craft paper glue to permanently adhere the
cutouts to the shade. Allow to dry overnight.
- Cover the entire shade with an acrylic clear
coat to protect it and make it easy to clean.
If you don't have vintage wallpaper, you can try
ebay or

Still not finding it? Try wrapping paper instead.
It's thinner, and a
little harder to handle without ripping, but will look just as
good.
